oh the post partum body. i was so curious about how my body would change. curious/freaked out. I didn't think much of it until a week or so before he was born though. then it was all, let me mourn the loss of my youth. ha. a little too late for a freak out. And then he arrived! ... And I didn't look down for a few days. I just wasn't ready to see what was ahead of me. And now, six weeks post partum ... I think I actually like my post partum self. I am surprisingly OK with wider hips and a few more imperfections thrown into the mix. They resulted in Tuck. And breastfeeding... it's oddly empowering. I'm all "i make my babies food!"
But don't get me wrong ... I'm still interested in having abs again (;

Oh you look super good. Plus boys tend to love hips (and boobs). And this all resulted in beautiful baby Tuck :) Congrats girl !
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing!! My biggest worry when I was pregnant wasn't giving birth and the pain that would ensue, but what my body would look like afterwards. I was so nervous when I checked myself out in the mirror afterwards! But you really grow to accept those little changes and to be proud of them. :)
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous. Love that dress!

I love the humor you have on the thoughts that we are all thinking! I think you look great!
ReplyDeleteI am freaking out and I am not even pregnant. You make it look good though!
You look gorgeous!! I hear ya! I didn't even think about what my body would look like post partum, and I honestly had a really hard time dealing with the in between in those first few months afterwards. But yes, I mean our bodies grew and pushed out a baby and is now producing their food. Such a miracle! Lots of love!!!
ReplyDeleteYou're looking fabulous, mama! :)
ReplyDeletelooking hotter than ever!
ReplyDeleteI agree - I'd kill for your postpartum style, and I love the upbeat attitude!
ReplyDeleteI'm pregnant and am already thinking of this, so have kind of a random question. I've heard of those belly band things that you can get to wear after the baby is born, with the idea that it sucks things back in and helps you get back to your "old" shape a bit faster. Has anyone used this, or heard anything about it? I can't tell if it's crazy or brilliant...
You look STUNNING Sarah! You are s0 beautiful inside and out :)
ReplyDeleteSarah you look absolutely stunning! =) Post Partum does sound a little scary to me as well. ;) Lucky for you, your body bounced back quickly!!! xoxo
ReplyDelete@Sara - I thought about getting one but ended up not - as they are expensive! Plus, I think your shrinking has a lot to do with your uterus going back to your normal shape. So I'm entirely convinced they work, but more coincidental if that makes since. But I have yet to try it.
ReplyDeleteYou definitely don't look post partum! Love that dress too!
ReplyDeleteugh, you are totally one of THOSE who is still skinnier than me post baby. you look amazing!
ReplyDeletexo the egg out west.

ReplyDeleteYou've got a fantastic attitude gorgeous lady! x
ReplyDeletemy sentiments exactly. The boobs!!! Oh the boobs.
ReplyDeleteI just love this. I was just like you and was a worry wort pre baby, but after my little guy was born, I actually liked my new postpartum look. It's funny, my mom jokingly told me that she'd remove the mirrors from my house for the first 6 weeks, but I was too focused(and sleep deprived) on the baby to really notice.
ReplyDeleteThe mama look looks great on you and you're totally rocking it!
Enjoy your day :)
