i made a list soon after my surgery of all the things I wanted to do.
I read a quote inside a jamba juice {ha!} that said
"“Begin doing what you want to do now.
We are not living in eternity. We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand-and melting like a snowflake"
i can't believe how many i've crossed off of that list.
sometimes it takes something big happening to put your life into perspective.
but don't wait for something big
to realize how short life is.
how we should go after our dreams ...
it costs far too much to not.

so true! so if i quit my job i'm going to direct my boyfriend to this post :) kidding.
ReplyDeletevery true and inspirational!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great quote! That's funny you found it in a Jamba Juice, but better somewhere than nowhere! Great post :)
ReplyDeleteLove love love this. Can I use that quote on my blog? I'll give you credit. Funny enough contemplating a big career move and think there was a reason I saw this today.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sarah :)
ReplyDeleteLove this- it's so so true! I just did a post on regrets today, trying to remind myself to live this life to fullest!
ReplyDeletethis is lovely.
ReplyDeletei love posts like this! a nice reminder
ReplyDeleteVery inspiring. I've been thinking about this all week and then here you have this lovely and inspiring quote. Thank you :)
ReplyDeletebeautiful sentiment, sarah.. (:
ReplyDeleteThe timing of your post today could not be better. I have been struggling over the past couple of weeks with the feeling that the things that "I have to do" always seem to get in the way of the things that "I want to do". I need to get better at making sure that I make room for both, specially the things I want to do. Life is too short to waste it!
ReplyDeleteI love this Sarah - love it!
ReplyDeleteduring a reorganizing, de-cluttering fit last night i found my high school journal and inside was a list of things I wanted to do in my life. without even realizing it I had done so many things on that list.. 16yr old me would be so proud. i'm looking forward to finishing the list :)
ReplyDeleteI love this Sarah --- I've been trying to push myself to follow those dreams lately. Perhaps because 30 is nearing and it seems time has just flown by! Either way, great to live in the now!
ReplyDeleteThis is very true! I tend to be practical: invest in the future, work really hard now so that later is easier, etc.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to move to DC, but have had trouble finding a job there while living in Washington state. My current job recently has had some changes.. that have pushed more more towards being less concerned about having employment lined up! I'm 95% decided that this summer I'm moving to DC, job or no job!!! I'll figure it out once I get there!
You are so right! Thank you for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more! You're always so inspirational, Sarah!
ReplyDeletePeony
chills!
ReplyDeleteJust what I wanted to hear today.
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
Couldn't have said it better myself. :)
ReplyDeleteI guess I really needed to read this quote because upon reading it, I burst into tears. So weepy now, but motivated at the same time.
ReplyDeleteThanks. :-)
Agreed!!
ReplyDeleteWell, something did happen to me recently that made me realize this...but I think I will make a list as well and cross things off as I accomplish them.
Perfectly put Sarah! I wrote a similar theme today..about trying things you thought you may have disliked...branching out and experiencing life.

I love this, Sarah! Perfect! It's easy to get caught up in "life" and forget that it's about LIVING! Thanks for the reminder.

love this!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so true! I think we all take time for granted sometimes. My motto is: never postpone for tomorrow the things you can do today :)
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend, Sarah!
So true and not said enough--thank you :)
ReplyDeleteamen! that's all I have to say about that. trying to figure out how to make those dreams come true... it can be tough to take the leap. but there's not time like the present :)
ReplyDeleteSo true! Gosh your posts are so inspiring!
ReplyDeleteWe have to live life like everyday could be our last and #makeitcount :)
ReplyDeleteI just pulled that same quote last week...love it!!! :)
