it's pretty weird how i actually start to like them a little. 

this week we've been cooking up okra.

its so fresh, doesn't need much.

just olive oil, salt and pepper. sauteed.  

annnnnnd i think this is my biggest crowd pleaser yet.

who knew kids liked okra?

i also made kale for another class - they kept asking for "fourths".

last easter i was in Lugano for Easter.  With JB.

i'm missing JB so much lately.

even more than before, though i didn't think it was possible.

he's skiing this weekend in the swiss alps.

i don't like skiing but i do like drinking hot cocoa while taking in the view.

anyway, this weekend is as good of a time as any to say:

swiss anticipation

Two posts in a day.  So, sue me. 

I'm so anticipating my trip to Suisse.  The countdown is in effect.  27 days to go!  I've been laughing about how I have become a true snowbird.  Constantly chasing the best weather.  We arrived back from Switzerland to Florida in November, when the weather is just right.  Then we left in December as soon as it got a bit cold, and headed to Panama.  Then we headed back to Florida once it warmed up.  

Soon I'm arriving in Switzerland during the perfect weather while I escape the Florida heat just in time.

Hi, I am an 80 year old in a 27 year old body.

Soooo... here are a few things I'm looking forward to:

{alpine cow petting}

{reuniting with my bike and riding through switz, france, and germany in a single day.}

{seeing merian park in bloom}

{Consum for the best cheese platter a monger like me could ever ask for}

{not having to drive.  just ride!}

{evening wine on the Rhine}

{swiss hikes with this guy}

Most of all I'm looking forward to just having JB back. 

 This guy is the cream skim milk to my coffee.

Can't wait for another summer abroad traveling with my favorite person. ever.

I have come down with a case of major girl crush. and chances are you will too.

So sometimes I wonder if Sophie is a real girl.

She seems to good to be true.

Just read some of the things she loves:

• my grandma's sponge cake, the smell of freshly ground coffee, thunderstorms, crunchy apples, the smell of rain, dreams, jimmy choo, christian louboutin, europe in the summer, europe in the winter, love song dedications, ice cream, cadbury hot chocolate, my mum, my little cousins, hotels ...

She finds beauty all around her and I get the sense that she does not take any day for granted. 

annnnnnd, can we just talk about homegirls style?

It is complete and utter perfection.

Oh, and she's pretty easy on the eyes too.   As in reallllly easy, like in a  drop dead gorg way. 

I'm convinced all "Sophies" are gorgeous, stylish women.  

Genetic superiority going on with the name there.

After seeing what Sophie wears there's no excuse for me to dress boring this morning.

I'm filled to the brim with style inspiration.  Hope you are too!
