At dinner I like to load up on my phyto-nutrients, antioxidants, and omega 3's.
brussels sprouts. one of my faves, but they get a bad rap.
these little guys can be quite tasty if cooked correctly.
recipe here
green beans: boil for 2 minutes, pour in ice cold water, saute with garlic & EVOO
&
husband caught trout- with EVOO & seasoning. perf.
artichoke - boil in water for 30-40 minutes
dip in butter.
mmmmmmmm
i got this for JB from Sur La Table last weekend
we love how this fish keeps our hands from burning up!
squash from the garden!
our squash from the garden is the above one.
the "organic" squash from grocery store is on the bottom.
in this case, bigger is better, and sweeter too!

does it defeat the health purpose if i dip my artichoke in mayo?
ReplyDeletebecause I do.
and asparagus.
my hubby LOVES some sauteed brussle sprouts..mm
You would be SO proud of me. for dinner tonight i had basmati rice, zucchini, tomatos, onion, (sauteed all together served over the rice). delish.
and i didnt even eat a thing of ice cream after.
because i ate the whole bin last night.....
whatever.
Mmmmmmmmmm, I need brussel sprouts now! The entire dinner looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteNew reader and loving your blog!

ReplyDeleteI love brussels sprouts. Try chopping them up really well and sautéing them with a small bit of butter and olive oil. Add salt and pepper and they're delicious. They'll brown a lot and you get some crispy and some tender. It's delicious!
ReplyDeleteyuuum, squash is one of my favorite veggies! yum yum. and i love the panama hat.
ReplyDeletemmmm brussel sprouts.. we make 'em spicy by putting sriracha on them with salt, pepper and lime juice. Delicious.
ReplyDeleteI've heard you can put bacon in them. But being vegetarian.. that. is. a. no. no.
Yum, brussel sprouts are so good, particularly when paired with bacon.
ReplyDeleteI've never been a fan of brussel sprouts because of the rap, but honestly, I've never actually tried them. Am I missing out?
ReplyDeleteI just planted our garden (wanted to make sure we were done with any last minute frosts), and I can't wait till they're ready to pick!!
Have a great night sweet friend! :)
