if you do - don't worry, i'll still be tweeting my face off on location.
...
in other news,
bachelorette parties.
i love em. but why do they have to be all you-know-what straws? and you-know-what cakes?
call me a prude. i'm used to it.
How about something like these beauties:

Have you planned a bachelorette party? How did you make it special for the bride?
links/blog posts are much appreciated.
PS
i love being a girl.

That was my #1 rule for my bridesmaids in planning my B party. No 'P' ANYTHING! We all wore black (because it makes everybody look good) with a white lily in our hair to let everybody know. Dinner with everyone and then a night on the town. Classy, but fun!
ReplyDeletei totally agree! doing it this way is so much more glamorous, elegant and sophisticated! exactly the way i would want my bachelorette party! haha and i love being a girl too. have fun away with your mummy :) i WILL miss you xx
ReplyDeletesuch sweet details- i them all. thanks for the website via twitt- super cute.
ReplyDeletehave a great little getaway! xo
It really is sooo much fun being a girl! I love even more having a girl! And being to relive all those fun little girly moments with her!! Or will be doing soon! I love these pictures! Have fun with your mom!
ReplyDeleteI would be so disgusted if one of my girlfriend's ever planned me a bachelorette party with you-know-what anything. I hate that those things are associated with bachelorette parties. I want something simple and sweet - light cakes, some wine + a lounge! And for heaven's sake, no man parts.
ReplyDeleteooo la la i love them all! i can't wait to see you saturday!!! WHEEE!
ReplyDeleteYES, keep it classy San Diego...aka insert name of location.
ReplyDeleteI've never planned a bachelorette party, but my imaginary one looks just like those photos.
you will be missed.
i'm the same way. you can plan my bach. party ok? i'll let you know one day when i get engaged. in a long, long time. ps sending you the email tonight! (my tonight...your late afternoon?)
ReplyDeleteHow fun! It will be awesome!
ReplyDeleteI said no man parts at my bach-ette party. luckily I had bridesmaids who love me so they adhered to my request =)
ReplyDeleteMy sister on the otherhand, would like a man part cake...I don't know if I can eat it haha!
I love that picture with all the streamers every where =)
We're planning a bachelorette party / bridal shower for a good friend. I'll let you know how it turns out!
ReplyDeletethose bachelorette ideas are SO much cuter than the "you know what" themes! :)
ReplyDeletemy sisters planned my and strictly outlawed any things of "that" nature! I was VERY appreciative!
Lauren @ tickled.
Oh I love all these pictures that you posted! I would MUCH rather have a cute, sophisticated, girly bachelorette party than something raunchy!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week with your mom!
Super fun and filled with lots of lovely ideas....love it!
ReplyDeleteLiesl :)
I've been following your blog a week or so now, but have yet to comment - I love it!
ReplyDeleteI recently got engaged and totally agree with you! I have always thought bachelor/bachelorette parties are kind of trashy. I am planning a bachelorette party for my cousin later this year and have many pictures like the ones above in my inspiration file! Why not make it girly and pretty!
I am like you and nothing bothers me more than trashy bachelor/ bachelorette parties. When I got married we went to dinner and then to a piano bar.
ReplyDeleteHave a fun getaway with your mom
PS: I have started something new and am showcasing a different party on Fridays!
i love the girly look to them... definitely can do without the sketchy stuff :b
ReplyDeletehave a fantastic time with your momma! i've never planned a bachelorette party but i like when they are personalized for the bride-to-be...her favorite sweets, mini food, a signature drink. things like that are always fun :) xoxo jcd :: cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteI have always said that I won't have any of those straws, cookies, pinatas, inflatables in the form of boy parts. So not my style and I am not anywhere near ready for a bachelorette party.
ReplyDeleteNot a big fan of the you-know-what at these kinds of parties. Seems kind of obvious, but to each their own. I think the guest of honor should be comfortable and doing something they really enjoy.
ReplyDeleteMan, I can't wait to plan my bachelorette party! Oh, and that picture of all the girls throwing cake MADE. MY. DAY. I can't even begin to tell you!
ReplyDeleteLooks super nice!
ReplyDeleteWhere are you going with your mom? Have a great time and speak to you via twitter then :)
xox
I seriously can't believe the timing of this post -- I'm hosting a bachelorette party with a friend for another friend tomorrow and the table we have planned looks so much like the one you've pictured with the baby's breath centerpiece, old fashioned candy jars and the hanging ribbons!!!! Desert is lots of candy (in said old-fashioned jars) cotton candy and cheesecake with strawberry topping! :)
ReplyDeletecrazy timing! i'm hosting a bachelorette party next weekend for my best friend who happens to be marrying my brother (could I be any luckier?) we're going out to dinner at a mediterrean restaurant and since she's obsessed with all things London (she's an english teacher) my decorations for the night are all london themed instead of, um, unmentionables.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree why do girls think that "stuff" makes a good party?!!!? I'm planning my best friends bachelorette party on top of moving to Germany but I am making sure everything is in order for a CLASSY weekend in Charleston, SC for her! My mom always tells "remember to always be a lady..." I love this post... So "ladylike"!
ReplyDeleteI agree 100%. I'm a prude just like you. I think its tasteless and classless. I'm all for the sophistication and maturity of it all. Girls can have fun without all that stuff, I think any way.
ReplyDeleteI did plan a party once for a friend, but I was young and boring (though now I'm just older but still boring) and we went out around town while I made her announce to everyone, restaurant, grocery store, people pulled over on the side of street that she was getting married. LAME I know. But we had fun.
Any way, I came across your blog from another and just wanted to pop in and say HEY! Enjoyed reading =)
This is EXACTLY what I wanted for my bachelorette party. Did it happen any where near this? No. But I will not be bitter. :)
ReplyDeleteDoesn't mean you're a prude... classy is more like it! I threw a bachelorette party this summer without the you-know-whats. We all dressed up in black, pink, or silver and at least one article of clothing had to shimmer/sparkle. After dinner and some fun downtown we went back to one of our houses played games (again without the you-know-whats) and decorated cookies in the shapes of bras and panties...it was cute! (Okay, who is the prude now?:) There was plenty of pink champagne enjoyed by all. Have fun this week! <3 MademoiselleMichael
ReplyDeleteHope you had fun at the Bachelorette party girl! I can't wait to see the pics, I'm planning/heading to one at the end of the month! I need inspiration :-)
ReplyDeletei just found your blog. LOVE! i agree 100%. i told my friends that when i get engaged (many years away) and it's time for a bachelorette party we will be doing a spa day. i get embarrassed so easily and the thought of a stripper or something makes me want to run away... eek! i don't think i'd survive.
