LESSONS LEARNED
First and foremost, bring a hair clip/tie/anything to pull your hair back when you go on a rainforest boat tour. Otherwise, the above could be you and you may just spend the next day untangling your hair. prevention is key.
For my last public service announcement of the day, when you're mac says "scratch disk full" don't upload photos. I did. It isn't pretty. I have 10 out of my 200 rainforest photos. The rest are floating in outer space. I was pretty upset about it but i am shaking it off. My apologies that you, dear internet friend, don't get to see my beloved with a monkey right next to him or the colors of the rainforest or the mystic fog that lingers on top of the trees in gamboa. forgive me, please. (:
Anyway, hope you all had a marvelous tuesday and enjoyed your trip to Seattle below and the rainforest of panama above.

Oh no ): That is my worst nightmare! I'm so sorry. The pictures you did post are beautiful though.
ReplyDeleteHair ties are crucial any day! Sorry about your pictures :-( Here's to hoping that they decide to come back to planet earth!
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh i can relate...thanks to the computer catastrophe i experienced the other day!!! it's so depressing :(
ReplyDeletei have an idea though...make your husband take you back....take more photos...and bring a hair tie!
ReplyDeleteOh no! Well the pictures that you do have are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAnd I once wore high heel wedge sandals on a trek through a West Indies rainforest. So dumb.
Hope your hair untangles! :)
hey!
ReplyDeleteI've been following you for a while now and i have to say: you are sooo gorgeous :D
what happened to your pictures happened to mine too this summer :/ did you put an SD card in your camera or did you save them directly on your camera? because when they were on an SD card there are programs which can get everything back you saved lately on your SD card :) but you have to make sure not to use it anymore until you use the program!! just download one of them for free (or maybe mac even already got one?) and try it on the card. i hope you understood me, though my english isn't perfect...
good luck!
greetings from vienna (so cool that you've already been there :) !!)

On New Years Eve I borrowed my Mom's camera to take pics for a post. Later that night all of the thousands of photos on her precious Nikon and Lexar Media Card got deleted, nowhere to be found. It was a screaming match and the worst NY eve I have ever had! There is an upside to the story: my mom took her camera to a Camera store a few days later, and they mysteriously retreieved all of her missing, thousands of pictures. If you know of someone who works in the camera industry maybe they can fix it for you. Nevertheless it is a sinking feeling, losing something you treasure. Rainforest pics sound beautiful...but atleast you have lived it! :) Dont worry about showing us!
ReplyDeletewhat a nightmare! but i loved the ones you did manage to keep especially the last one. mj and i took a bus with no ac and the windows down to a concert last summer - i had no hair tie and my hair looked exactly the same.
ReplyDeletesorry about your missing photos :( but these are beautiful, and you will always have the fun memories!
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hope you're able to get some of your pictures back! These are gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteThat sucks about your photos!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the tip about pulling your hair back (one may never know when they may find themselves in a rainforest) because I can't even imagine what would happen to my curls in there! BIGGEST HAIR EVER!
How frustrating! But I do think the pictures that managed to remain are darling :)
ReplyDeleteugh! wish i had read this before i tried to force my mac to take more pictures!!!
ReplyDeletejust found your blog and am enjoying reading some of your travel stories! esp. panama because i studied abroad there and i don't hear about many other people heading there! :)
sorry you lost your pics and yes, good point on the hair tie. my hair got so knotted when i was in panama it took me over 3 hours and almost an entire bottle of conditioner to get it untangled! lol!
