what a saucy shade for the holidays! one of my favorite birthdays was when i was 16. i went away on a youth conference and the guy i had been IN LOVE with for 3 years finally noticed me. we dated for 7 years after that magical bday!

ReplyDeleteWait, are you Sadie or Sarah?! Happy Birthday! My favorite birthday was going to Yosemite National Park for the first time and seeing Half Dome and gasping because it was so dang amazing. From then on, I've made it a tradition to go camping there every Labor Day Weekend with lots of my friends (my birthday is Sept 2) and this past year was the 4th year! I plan on keeping the tradition alive as long as this girl is breathin'. (sad, but true)

ReplyDelete(one of) my favorite birthdays was a few years ago, I was having a rough morning and my (now) husband surprised me with the perfect day: a trip to the zoo, lunch at our favorite place, a baseball game, a fun night of dinner/drinks, homemade cake & a beautiful gift. It showed that he knew me perfectly. it still makes me smile thinking about it.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was when I turned 15th. I am hispanic and we have a tradition that when a female turns 15th we have a quinceanera. Its just like a princess party with a big fluffy pink dress, in a ballroom, Dj, food, drinks, family and friends celebrate with you just like a wedding. I will never forget that day January 31, 2004!!

Morning yoga, lunch on the beach, then a half day at the spa and dinner in town with some amazing friends. It's going to be really, really hard to top it this year! My favorite birthday thus far was when I was turning 29 ( I am now 31) We were on a trip to Mexico, I was pregnant with my baby girl Sophie and I was hungryyyy!!! My husband ordered my chocolate chip pancakes and a milkshake (banana!) To be delivered. I sat in bed and ate, happily, took a long bath and went downstairs to the beach, the pool and most importantly, more food! What more could a girl ask for?!

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite birthday memories was my senior year in high school for my 17th birthday. I was in the drama club and all of my best friends were in this tight knit group. We had all been Christmas caroling at an elderly home and we were all dressed up and feeling the Christmas spirit and having so much fun. Then we went to my house and continued to sing and listen to music all night. My boyfriend at the time played the guitar and busted out with a rendition of Eric Clapton's "Layla" in a dedication to me, only he changed the lyrics to my name. I'll never forget it.

ReplyDeleteLet's see... I've been lucky to have so many great birthdays, but the one that pops into my mind would be my sweet 16. Just my family and a couple of friends in NYC for a weekend. We stayed at the Ritz and lived it up! It's a great memory :-)
