Tomorrow is the day we leave for Barcelona!! We are actually taking a train hotel. We'll have our own little room with bunk beds where we'll go to sleep somewhere in france and wake up in spain.
absolutely cannot wait to explore:
& no worries i won't forget to eat a gazillion tapas. my mouth is watering already.
have you been to barcelona?
any must sees?

Long time since I have been to Barcelona... But, for me, everything around Gaudi is a must-see - this guy was simply a genius! The Sagrada Familia is put of this world! Have a wonderful time and sleep well in your night-train! :)

MUST SEE: Parque Guell, gorgeous!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd Las Ramblas is so fun, especially in the early evening!
So envious, I miss Spain!
Those bunk beds are presh! :)
ReplyDeletehave a great time!
ReplyDeleteWow, I have never even heard of a train hotel! That sounds so nice, and very luxurious!
ReplyDeleteMy sister lives in Barcelona. You definitely hit the major highlights - Parc Guell is gorgeous, and the Sagrada Familia is awesome. Have fun ambling down las ramblas (hold on to your bag!). I don't know how much time you have, but heading down to the beach for lunch is worthwhile if it's a nice day. Take a walk through the old part of town - it's beautiful. The double-decker tour buses are actually pretty good in Barcelona, and they're a good way to see all of these sights (plus other Gaudi buildings along the way!). Have a great time! Jealous!
ReplyDeleteI loved, loved, loved Barcelona and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. The Sagrada Familia and the other Gaudi buildings are must sees for me (the roof of La Pedrera is amazing).
ReplyDeleteI loved strolling the streets of the Barri Gotic and the Passeig de Gracias is some great shopping.
I'm really bad with restaurant/bar names but I do recall that Cal Pep was very good. The nightlife is also great there.
For a day-ish trip I would recommend Montserrat. Even if you're not particularly religious I think its just such a serene and peaceful place.
Have a great time! Can't wait to hear all about it!
OMG! Trip to Barcelona?! I am jealous. Following your blog now and looking forward to reading more about your trip. Have fun sweetie!

ReplyDeleteMy husband and I took some online test years ago to see what our perfect travel destination as a couple would be...and guess what we got? Barcelona!! We still haven't made the trip yet, so I'm so jealous of you right now! Have an absolutely wonderful time and tell us all about it :-)
